PARTY JOURNAL

Small groups. Shared adventures.

A good evening starts with the party.

A notebook for people who enjoy playing together. Less time negotiating the next session, more time exploring, solving puzzles and laughing at the plan that almost worked.

Three habits worth keeping

01 / Pick the right game

Match the session, not the wishlist

Choose for the number of people who can actually join and the time you have tonight. A short cooperative run can be more satisfying than spending an hour setting up a long campaign.

02 / Leave a trail

Keep a shared campaign note

Write down the last objective, the next meeting point and one thing you want to try. A few lines help a returning player catch up without a long recap.

03 / Make room

Let everyone have a turn

Rotate the navigator, puzzle reader or party leader. Avoid solving a new encounter for someone before they have had a chance to discover it themselves.

A five-minute plan

  1. Agree on a start time and a finish time. Keep the first session modest.
  2. Install updates in advance and check that everyone's game version matches.
  3. Test voice, subtitles and accessibility options before starting.
  4. Choose a save point or natural pause for breaks.
  5. Finish with one suggestion for the next session, not a long post-game meeting.
